Frequently Asked Questions

What is Powerbags?

A High Intensity Interval Training class using a Powerbag (a sand-filled bag) as a means of resistance.

What happens during a Powerbags class?

We have a warm-up (approx 10min) followed by a range of different interval training sets ranging from 30s - 4min (there are plenty of rest periods in a session), finished with a cool-down and stretches.

What kind of exercises happen at Powerbags?

We use the Powerbags to perform squats, deadlifts, cleans, bicep curls, shoulder presses along with other body-weight movements such as burpees, squat jumps, lunges, press ups. We also use the Powerbags to develop core strength.

Do I need to be super fit to take part?

No. Powerbags is suitable for all abilities. We have so many people who feel they need to get fit first to take part, but this isn't the case. Powerbags is a great way to start your fitness journey.

How difficult are the classes?

Each class can be tailored to suit your own needs. We have a rang of Powerbags to use (5kg-50kg) and body-weight exercises can be used as alternatives; the main thing is you work to your own limit.

Can I train with an injury?

Yes you can, but you will need to mention this on the readiness to train form, or tell your instructor on the day. Ultimately, it is down to the participant to to work within their limits and reduce the risk of aggravating an injury.

How much does Powerbags cost?

A single session is £5 for an adult, £2.50 for juniors. We can only accept CASH payments on the day. We also have a great OFFER where you can buy 10 sessions upfront for £40 (available to purchase at one of the classes).

Can juniors go to Powerbags?

Yes they can (ages 11+), but they have to train with a responsible adult and a 'readiness to train form' will need completing on their behalf.

What do I need to bring to a Powerbags class?

We have all of the Powerbags and some exercise mats you can use (some people like to bring their own). Just bring a drink and a towel.

What environment are the classes in?

We use a dance studio at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, which can cater for 36 people. It's fully air-conditioned with access to toilets and changing rooms. In the summer months we often go outside and use the sports fields.

Can I just turn up without booking?

It's advisable to book through our WhatsApp community group (please email us for a link), or via Facebook.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes you can. They will need to complete a 'readiness to train form' beforehand, and the bonus is you get to go for FREE!
